We now own and manage "La Basse Cour", a successful guest house of discreet charm in Western France, located near Alençon and Le Mans on the border of Southern Normandy and the Pays de la Loire. This 18th century Normandy farmhouse is set by a wildfowl lake, with gardens filled with flowers and forest views beyond.

3 immaculate en-suite guest rooms. Large, modern baths and showers. Electric heating and heated towel rails. Radio, hairdryer, toiletries, Wi-Fi.

For evening meals the village bar, restaurant and shops are just 200m away.

General

We offer three "chambres d'hôtes" (guest rooms) in our now renovated and restored 18th century stone-and-timber farmhouse. The house is situated in a quiet village, surrounded by extensive private gardens and grounds. The landscaped gardens with secluded niches and terraces are generously furnished with tables and chairs to provide plenty of private, quiet places to sit. The village shops, restaurant and bar are within a couple of minutes walk.

The guest rooms have been comfortably furnished, tastefully and individually decorated, with adjoining private bathrooms. Each has original exposed beams and views over the surrounding countryside and gardens. A well equipped sitting room with library, refreshments and tourist information is at guests' disposal. Wi-Fi Internet is provided throughout the house.

A wooded fishing lake, tennis courts, boules, mountain bike rental and walking routes are on hand. Close by there are riding stables, golf, treetop adventure walks, canoe-kayak, rock climbing, medieval towns and villages, chateaux and gardens.
