About us
Whilst its location offers excellent opportunities for fishing, the spacious interior, presented to an exceptional standard throughout, ensures every comfort whatever the season. Visitors can enjoy boat trips on the lake among its many islands, motor boat hire and water skiing are also available close- by and there are walks and nature trails affording lovely views within the forest park. Carrick (7 miles) is not only a renowned centre for river cruises on the Shannon but also boasts a variety of evening entertainments, and there are local restaurants, shops and inns at Knockvicar. Boyle (5 miles), at the foot of the Curlew Mountains, provides town amenities. Knock Airport 40 miles.
There are plenty of amenities in the surrounding localities to occupy even the most adventurous of those among us or if you prefer just kick back, enjoy the scenery and do nothing. Come and stay, and find out for yourself why people always come back.
Accomadation comprises of three and four bedroom detached houses on their own grounds suitable to sleep up to 6 and 8 people respectively. Two of the three bedrooms which are en-suite are located on the first floor with the main bathroom, third bedroom, fully equiped modern kitchen and large living/dining area located on the ground floor. These houses are newly constructed and are furnished and equipped to the highest standard including

Lough Key Wood is a holiday village nestling in the beautiful unspoilt village of Knockvicar, Co. Roscommon. Situated in the shores of the historic Lough Key and Forest Park, Lough Key Wood has an abundance of attractions and activities to offer. Lough Key Marina is situated beside Lough Key Wood ands here you can hire a boat and explore the shore line and islands of the lake or spend your day fishing for local varities such as pike, roach, bream, eel and trench. Boyle River, Lough allen and Lough Arrow are also within easy reach
The Moorings Pub and resturant is also located onsite and is renowned for its fine food and regular music sessions.
Lough Key Forest Park
Lough Key Forest Park offers activities for all the family. Comprising some 350 hectares of mixed woodland, a lake and a number of islands, Lough Key constitutes one of the most extensive and picturesque forest parks in Ireland. Included in the park's amenities are a well landscaped caravan and camping park, nature walks, a bog garden, observation tower, ice house, wishing chair and underground tunnels. Recent development has seen the addition of A New Lakeside Visitor Centre, Tree Canopy Walk, Innovative Adventure House and a fantastic state of the art Children's Play Zone. Lough Key is one of the most beautiful lakes in Ireland, is navigable from the Shannon via the Boyle River, and the jetty at Lough Key harbours pleasure cruisers from that great river. Boats are available for hire within the park.
Carrick on Shannon
As the name suggests, Carrick on Shannon sits right on the river Shannon. This thriving center is known locally as the cruising capital of the Shannon. It boasts a beautiful modern marina and is also the most northerly hire point on the river. Carrick has a wealth of historical interests, a great selection of restaurants and plenty of pubs with music and fun for all. If you want to get in a spot of shopping you might drop in on the Letrim Design House or the Market Yard Centre. Carrick is a great town and well worth a visit.
