The Providence Bay/Spring Bay LIONS Club together with "Let Them Be Kids" and many volunteers erected new playground equipment on the Providence Bay Beach. It includes play equipment for children, a beach volleyball court and fitness equipment for adults. Soon ramps will be installed to allow wheelchair access. We are so proud!! more

When everyone around us were experiencing dark skies and hail, we had a very eerie sunset over Providence Bay. Everything was bright yellow and then to the northeast we had a double rainbow. Sorry about the flagpole in the foreground - I took the picture in a hurry. more

The Providence Bay Marina is closed to launching or docking your boat as of today. Now, what happens to a boat that has launched at Meldrum Bay or South Baymouth and travels to Providence Bay?? The weather is good, it is only October 5. This is not good for tourism (Manitoulin Tourism Association (MTA) and and those businesses who offer fishing charters. I wish Municipality of Central Manitoulin still ran the marina. And apparently, there is nothing we can do about this.

Our guests were not happy when they traveled onto Manitoulin Island via the swing bridge at Little Current to find the Manitoulin Tourism Association (MTA) Welcome Centre closed. It was 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011. What, does tourism stop the end of August?? They couldn't even stop to use the washrooms.

Nice 13.7 lb. Chinook Salmon caught in the bay at Providence Bay this morning. It was the first salmon caught by our guest Darren. He also hooked onto a big one, probably close to 25 lbs. but after 1/2 hour of fighting it, one quick head shake and the line was broken. A good time was had by all! A great couple of days with the newlyweds Leslie & Darren. Ross and Leanne will be back out on the water this evening. www.thedunesbb.com more

It is the last day of a fabulous weekend for the Providence Bay Agricultural Fair on Manitoulin Island. This first-rate fair features a midway, vendors, exhibit hall, live music, live animals, the fantastic horse pulls and horse show. The weather has been perfect for the 128th consecutive fall fair.
